Recently, the front page of the "Huzhou Daily" published a report, focusing its attention on TSC's groundbreaking achievements in the commercial aerospace field. The report states that TSC, leveraging its profound technical expertise in the field of metal 3D printing intelligent manufacturing, has injected strong impetus into the large-scale mass production and cost reduction of commercial aerospace with its "fast, efficient, good and economical" additive manufacturing solutions.

From the heat-resistant bottom of the return capsule of the manned spacecraft test vehicle to the "Tianwen-1" mission to explore Mars, TSC's metal 3D printing equipment and technology have undergone tests in multiple major national projects. These technological capabilities honed through national tasks are now being fully unleashed in the commercial aerospace sector, converting complex and demanding aerospace requirements into high-quality and efficient regular manufacturing capabilities, and injecting more powerful forces into the pursuit of space exploration.

The 17th batch of scientific exploration data of "Tianwen-1" was recently made public, sparking public interest in Mars exploration. According to TSC Laser Technology Group Co., Ltd., located in Jixi Town, Wuxing District, the "Tianwen-1" probe that obtained Mars data contains more than 40 components produced by the company.

"These components are one of the achievements we have made through technological innovation. In recent years, the company has persisted in deeply developing 3D printing intelligent manufacturing technology and has applied for 120 various patent technologies. With these unique skills, we can independently develop 80% of the rocket engine components in the commercial aerospace field." said Wang Peilian, the executive vice president of the company.

记The reporter walked into the production workshop of "TSC", and saw several giant metal powder 3D printers running quietly. Through the monitoring screen of one of the equipment, a rocket engine component with a diameter of about 1 meter was gradually formed under the laser "carving". The technicians introduced that this equipment was equipped with the "flight printing" technology independently developed by the company, which could stack metal powder layer by layer at the thickness of an A4 sheet. "Taking a rocket engine component with a height of 1.5 meters as an example, the stacking accuracy can reach about 60 micrometers per layer, equivalent to stacking nearly 25,000 A4 sheets together."

Precision is the core competitiveness of 3D printing technology. "TSC" has achieved technological breakthroughs in laser melting, control system, cleaning efficiency, and powder cleaning in recent years, further strengthening the printing precision control and solving the long-standing "key technology bottleneck" problem.

"Early on, the manufacturing of key components for aerospace projects mainly relied on imported equipment, with extremely high costs. Even after the equipment was purchased, it was necessary to use imported powder materials and parameter process packages." said Wang Peilian. This passive situation of buying equipment, materials, and processes severely restricted the company's market competitiveness and development benefits in the field of metal 3D printing.

Therefore, nine years ago, the company made up its mind to shift to independent innovation, aiming to build a self-developed and controllable commercial rocket engine component production system. Starting from focusing on small equipment and achieving small component printing, it has successively overcome core technologies such as laser melting, control system, etc., and the size of the printable components has continued to increase, and the components can be reduced in weight by half or even three-quarters through material innovation and structural optimization.

Currently, "TSC" has participated in multiple national aerospace projects such as "Chang'e-4", "Tianwen-1", and "China's manned spacecraft return capsule test cabin". "During the rapid growth process, we also encountered sweet troubles," said Wang Peilian. "At critical moments, the government promptly offered assistance, taking multiple measures to help the company solve problems. This year, the company's total order amount is expected to exceed 700 million yuan, an increase of 40% compared to last year."
